Movies Capital Review – Is MoviesCapital a Scam?

MoviesCapital.com is a new site that provides movie buffs with an opportunity to download or stream hundreds of movies online.  They are also operating with complete legality as they’ve obtained licensing rights for the movies they host.

The site is quickly growing and is becoming one of the most popular destinations for people searching for ways to watch movies on their PCs.  However with all the bogus programs out there and the dozens of hastily put together TV to PC products most people simply want to know what it is they’ll get out of their Movies Capital membership.

So What’s Inside…?

I signed up for the platinum membership plan for $39.95 which would give me 2 years of unlimited access to all sections including: Movies, Cartoons, Horror Movies, Family Movies, Comedy Movies, Action Movies, Suspense Movies, Adventure Movies, Classic Movies, Complete DVD Releases and much more…

However, once inside the members’ area I have to say that I was a bit disappointed.  You’ll realize that having completely legal content as opposed to P2P sharing comes at a cost.  While there were what seemed to be several hundred, if not more, movies the collection was made up of primarily decades old, independent, and lesser known movies.

The majority of the films in the MoviesCapital database are from the 80’s and 90’s with few recent choices.  Unfortunately there’s really no way around this as it would be impossible to get licensing for brand new movies because they’re going to DVD and premium networks first.

Thus, if you want completely legal content you’re forced to do what Movies Capital has done and that is build a library of older and independent films.  To add more value to their membership they have also added some extra features, which include tutorials, a few live TV channels, and a collection of south park episodes.

So is Movies Capital a Scam…?

The company is not a scam as they do deliver on the service that they advertise; however I do not believe that this product would be right for everyone.  The current complaints about this company all have to deal with selection quality.

I think that people who enjoy older and indie movies will benefit the most from a MoviesCapital membership.  But if you’re buying this product with the notion of having the latest movies at your disposal then you’ll surely be disappointed.

On the other hand if you know what you’re getting yourself into then you can definitely find a lot of great movies that aren’t on everyone’s radar.  Click Here to Check out MoviesCapital.com

Then why don't they let people preview their selection. Any business that doesn't let people see the product and has no refunds is a SCAM.

Chad, I agree with you that a preview feature would really help people decide if the product is right for them but I do have to point out that Movies Capital does offer a refund. All products on ClickBank have a 60 day money back guarantee.

Then PLEASE tell me how in the heck you get a refund out of them???? I paid for the unlimited membership of $39.95. Browsed the titles. Saw NOTHING there I would download and IMMEDIATELY sent them 3 emails requesting a refund (all this within a 30 minute time frame). I have not heard a word back from them! I paid using PayPal and PayPal would not back me up stating that their policy only covers "merchandise" purchased thru their service. I am simply sick to my stomach about the entire incident.

i agree, movies capital is a ripoff. after signing up, i wasn't happy with their movie selection. i did not download one bit of it and requested for a refund, but to no avail. anyone that does not allow a refund (considering preview was not available) for one unhappy customer is a fraud. i hope some internet police can look into this so that this site will stop ripping people off the hard-earned money.

I agree with everyone that Movies Capital is a scam in that it does not allow preview of its movie selection before purchase. Obviously they know what a load of rubbish they are offering! I have just requested a refund and will also contact Clickbank to ensure that this is followed up.

I was looking seriously about buying a subscription. So I read every word in the FAQ section. I was SOLD until I saw that they want you to e-mail them the receipt number and they'll activate the account immediately. Not a bother? If the site is legit - WHY does it use a yahoo.com address instead of a business address. The domain is bought through godaddy.com - its EASY to set up an e-mail address using godaddy.com interface. Nuff said!

This site borders on being a scam. Unless you read their Terms of Service, you won't realize until it's too late that their selection of movies is very limited and relegated to B movies (many of which you've never heard of). In their Terms of Service they list the movies available for download. I recognized only a few titles, and they were all B movies from 20+ years ago. The rest I've never heard of, which should say it all right there. They also advertise their movies are "DVD Quality". Sorry people, AVI files are NOT dvd quality. They aren't bad, but they are compressed files. Compressing 4.5 GB movies down to 700MB size is NOT "dvd quality". In short, this site does tell you they are ripping you off IF YOU READ THE FINE PRINT, but they count on the fact that most people don't bother to read the fine print (Terms of Service).

I agree this site is misleading and a big waste of your money. If you find a movie you can recognize its very old and out dated. The rest are unknowns totally unrecognizable. Thing is by the time you figure this out you have already paid the subscription. I have tried several e-mails (which they boast about good tech service) and have got no response. I guess I will have to take the loss and live and learn.

Hello Meredith May I be so bold as to ask how you went about getting your refund. I have sent several e-mails requesting a refund but none have been answered.
